I was talking to my congregation last Sunday about the need to rediscover ourselves. Once I came across a sermon by Martin Luther King Jr. about Joseph and Mary forgetting Jesus at Jerusalem during their visit when Jesus was just 12. King Jr. was talking about Jesus' parent forgetting him, thinking that he was with friends or relatives along. many times in our lives to, we thought Jesus is with us or at least with our people or congregation. But He wasn't really there. We are comfortably moving along with our lives since we the situations or circumstance is not that challenging. Otherwise we'll start looking for Him. Northeast India was known by many conspicuous accolades such as “Jewel of India,” “Switzerland of the East”, and many more. Without doubt our past was magnificently good and topographically striking. There was a time we were living in abundance. Streams of fresh water, countless flora and fauna, mountains were indeed grandeur, generosity of your neighbours were immeasurable, traditional values above reproach, colourful customs, pollution of any kind was unheard of. Indeed God must have taken time to create such land where we can’t have even a glimpse of it now. One might not agree with me if I say I feel pity for the present generation. For nowhere we can find such a life of peace and tranquillity our forefather had lived. I don't understand!

The meaning of Christian has been jeopardize and damaged by some "holier than thou" people. Something is terribly missing the today's Christian. As far as the meaning of Christian is concern, it means follower of Christ! not something like religion of sect of this world. Many Christians missed the core value and principle of the Christian. Christ is all about loving, caring, sharing, and giving to all those who are deprived of such. It is easy to love those who are able, easy to care for those are well to do, easy to share with those whom we trust, generous to give to those who can give us back some day! Absolutely there is complete absent of Christian value in this kind of actions and way of life. I hate myself when I found in one those situations.
