Is it rediscovering a worth trying/attempting?

I was talking to my congregation last Sunday about the need to rediscover ourselves. Once I came across a sermon by Martin Luther King Jr. about Joseph and Mary forgetting Jesus at Jerusalem during their visit when Jesus was just 12. King Jr. was talking about Jesus' parent forgetting him, thinking that he was with friends or relatives along.
many times in our lives to, we thought Jesus is with us or at least with our people or congregation. But He wasn't really there. We are comfortably moving along with our lives since we the situations or circumstance is not that challenging. Otherwise we'll start looking for Him. We are slowly or steadily drifting away along with our own wimps and fancy. But have we really look for Him before its too late. Somewhere down our life journey, we might have taken a wrong turn, knowingly or unknowingly. God said something to the Church of Ephesus in Revelation 2:1-7 that they have left something very important, important enough to God to say that He will remove their lampstand. There are several good works you have done, even God will commended it is good. But without getting back to where we've lost, all those commendable works will go in drain. Why God rebuked the church at Ephesus is something we also can take a lesson. God wants them to get back to where they've lost. Because it is like we are traveling toward North while our destination is indeed to the south. That is why God is saying to the church that they should get back. God is not telling exactly where they went wrong but giving them to rediscover where they went wrong. We know where we went wrong than any other people in this world.
We are more than just mere human being but a handiwork of God. We need to rediscover that. No one in this world is an extra piece or bonus! We are being loved by God.

  1. Yes return to our first Love! God is Love and His love is a deep real and present love. Those whom He told "I never knew you" were lost -- they mayhave known Him, but He never knew them -- they did not have a relationship, a daily loving and being loved relationship. Jesus is our first and greatest Love and we cannot be lukewarm if we are in love, our passion for Him will change our lives and others. Blessings to you.
